Mizzou was at the center of expansion talk ever since the Big Ten announced plans six months ago to look at expansion, but according to a source of the Kansas City Star who is close to a member of the University of Missouri’s Board of Curators, MU has not heard from the Big Ten. It likely won’t, now that it looks like Nebraska is apparently headed to the Big Ten, and the Pac-10 is poised to become the Pac-16.

According to sources to ESPN, Colorado already has received an invitation to join the conference, while five other invitations will be extended to Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.

So with the apparent invites, it appears that Missouri would now be left out along with Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, and Iowa State.
