The Army says many of the remains at Arlington National Cemetery might have been misplaced, misidentified or mis-buried. Missouri’s senior Congressman plans an investigation.
Defense Department officials say as many as 200 bodies might be involved. It’s going to continue the investigation. The top two civilian leaders of the cemetery has been forced to leave.
The House Armed Services Committee plans its own investigation. That’s Ike Skelton’s committee.
Arlington has more than 300-thousand graves and adds 25 to 30 a day. The Secretary of the Army says misidentifications or improper record keeping–even the burial of more than one coffin in the same grave—affect 211 remains.
