It was a slow death for the Royals last night as the Twins scored a single run in six of their eight innings in the Royals 6-2 loss. Carl Pavano went eight innings and gave up just six hits and two walks. Kyle Davies falls to 4-5, giving up five runs, four earned in 6.2 innings.

The Royals played in front of the largest crowd at the new Target Field at 40,323. The Twins like their new digs where they are now 19-9. Davies gave up a home run to Delmon Young in the second and something that has haunted Davies in the past, resurfaced…walks. Davies issued five free passes, more than he’s allowed in his previous three starts.

The Royals actually had the lead in this game in the third inning after they got RBI hits from Billy Butler and Jason Kendall. Butler now has 31 RBIs on the season.
