Shelbina 8th grader Elizabeth Platz has finished second in the National Spelling Bee…She and two other contestants missed on their words in the eighth round. The winner, a girl from Ohio, got her word right in that round, then spelled another one in the final round to win the championship.
Platz tied for 49th last year.
