The 9th ranked Missouri Tigers did something this season it hasn’t done all year…blow a lead in the 7th inning. Hawaii, who leads nation in home runs got a two run blast in the last inning from Traci Yoshikawa to take a 3-2 lead and eventually beat Missouri by that score in the first game of the College World Series in Oklahoma City.

Hawaii took a 1-0 lead off a home run by Alexandra Aguirre, but Rhea Taylor scored on a Nicole Hudson double in the third to tie the game. Later, in the fifth, Taylor (who was just named a third team All-American) hit an opposite field home run to give MU a 2-1 lead.

Kristen Nottleman took the loss as she held Hawaii off the board from the fourth inning on stranding five baserunners until the seventh. Missouri will not play the loser of Florida/UCLA on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in the loser’s bracket.
