The Los Angeles Angels scored three times in the first inning off Royal starter Kyle Davies, roughing him up for six runs in a 7-2 win Wednesday night at Kaufmann Stadium.  Torii Hunter went 3 for 5 with a home run and three runs driven in.

It was the Royals’ fourth loss in the last five games and the problem was much of the same.  In the four losses, they Royals have scored a total of four runs which really baffles me, because this team is capable of getting hits, just not at the right time.

Scott Kazmir pitched 5.2 innings for the win, as the Royals continue to struggle going just 3-9 against left-handed starters this season.  David DeJesus was the only Royal with two hits, enjoying fatherhood.  He is 6-for-11 in the three games of this series so far and raised his average to .300.  DeJesus’ RBI single made the score 3-1 in the third inning, but Davies gave up two more runs in the fourth and was pulled in the next inning with two on and no outs.
