Fans to send off Mizzou softball team on Tuesday

June 1, 2010 By Bill Pollock

After sweeping Oregon with a 1-0 Saturday and 7-2 win on Sunday, the Missouri Tiger softball team is headed back to the College World Series and fans will have the opportunity to send them off on Tuesday.

Fans are invited to the Mizzou Athletic Training Complex (located on the corner of Stadium and Providence). The Tigers are expected to leave shortly before 2 p.m. on Tuesday and will board the bus in front of the east entrance to MATC. Fans are invited to gather at the MATC beginning at 1:45 p.m. to see the team off to Oklahoma City.

The Tigers will open up play in Oklahoma City on Thursday at noon against Hawaii, who is ranked 16th in the country. The 9th ranked Tigers are joined by the defending champs, #3 Washington, #4 Florida, #5 UCLA, #6 Georgia, #10 Arizona, and #15 Tennessee.

Back on February 21st, the Tigers played at Arizona and split two games after two games got cancelled on the 20th. Other than that, Missouri has not faced any other team at the World Series.
