The Mizzou Tiger softball team is one win away from advancing to their second consecutive College World Series after they beat the Oregon Ducks in the first of in a best of three series yesterday at University Field in Columbia. The Tigers beat the Ducks 1-0.

Tiger pitcher Kristin Nottleman was again untouchable as she three her third complete game of the post season. Her current ERA in the NCAA tournament so far is .75 in 24 innings pitched.

The only run of the game would come in the fifth when, with two out, Lisa Simmons hit a single. She then would take second on a wild pitch. Gina Schneider would then hit a slow roller to third. Schneider would beat out the throw to first, which then got by the first baseman and Simmons came all the way around to score.

Missouri will play Oregon in game two of the best of three series this afternoon. The game will start at high noon. If Oregon would win, a third and deciding game would be played 30 minutes after the end of game two.
