For the first time in school history, the number eight Mizzou Tiger softball team open Super Regional play this afternoon at University Field in Columbia against the Oregon Ducks.  The Tigers are playing for the third straight year in this best of three series.

The Mizzou Tigers come into the Super Regional after winning their own Columbia Regional last weekend against Creighton and Illinois.  Oregon won the Atlanta Regional which included two wins over number eight Georgia Tech.

The Tigers and Ducks have only played each other three times, with Mizzou winning two of those games.  These two teams did play each other last season in the San Diego Classic.  Mizzou beat Oregon 8-7 in extra innings.

Game one of the best of three series will be this afternoon at 1:30.  Game two is set for tomorrow at noon.  If necessary, game three would also be played tomorrow afternoon.  That game would start at 2:30.
