Mules baseball saw its 2010 season end Wednesday afternoon with a 9-4 setback to the fourth-ranked Bobcats of Georgia College & State at the NCAA-II Championships in Cary, North Carolina.
The third-ranked Mules were blanked over the final six innings after grabbing a 4-2 lead heading into the bottom of the third, and finished the game with only two hits over the last six frames.
The loss put the finishing touch on a season that saw the Mules post a 52-11 record and finish in a tie for fifth in the D-II Championships, marking the 13th time in 15 appearances that the Mules leave the event with at least a fifth place finish.
