The Kansas City Royals six game losing streak against the Texas Rangers is now over. The Royals had not beaten the Rangers this season before this afternoon’s 5-2 win at Kauffman Stadium.
Royals starter Luke Hochevar would pick up his fifth win of the season after going eight innings. He would give up just two runs on six hits, while striking out four.
The hitting star for the Royals would be Billy Butler who went 2-4 on the day. One of those hits was a two run home run that proved to be difference in the win for Kansas City.
The Royals are now headed to the east coast where they will start a series tomorrow night in Boston against the Red Sox. Brian Bannister will get the start for Kansas City against Boston’s Daisuke Matsuzaka.
First pitch is 6:10 tomorrow night.
