A pitcher’s duel yesterday at the K goes to the Colorado Rockies Jeff Francis, as he and three relievers shut out the Kansas City Royals 3-0. The loss ended the three game winning streak for the Royals.

Jeff Francis was making just his second start of the season. He missed all of last year due to a shoulder injury. Francis would six and a third innings, giving up just five Kansas City hits.

After Francis, Joe Beimel, Matt Belisle and Manuel Corpas would not allow any more hits. Corpas would pick up his third save of the season.

Despite no run support, Kyle Davies pitched very well. He went six innings, giving up just five hits and walking no one. Davies only mistake would come in the sixth when he gave up a home run to the Rockies Troy Tulowitzki.

The Royals and Rockies will finish up their interleague series this afternoon with Zack Greinke going after his second win of the season. The Rockies will counter with Aaron Cook.

Game time is 1:10 today.
