Royals starter Luke Hochevar threw a complete game, four-hitter as Kansas City won for the sixth time in eight games, beating the Cleveland Indians, 9-3, on Thursday afternoon at Progressive Field.

The sweep of the two-game series moves Ned Yost’s record to 5-2 since he took over the club on Friday. The Royals are out of the cellar in the American League Central, moving past the Indians. Let’s be real here though. Yost’s first seven games have come against the White Sox, Orioles and Indians…not top competition.

Alberto Callaspo hit a three-run homer off Indians starter Mitch Talbot in the Royals’ four-run third inning. Jose Guillen had an RBI single, breaking his 0-for-17 drought against the Indians. Guillen later a two-run homer to left field.
