Baltimore’s Nick Markakis singled home the winning run in the 10th inning denying the Royals a series sweep with a 4-3 loss Tuesday night in Baltimore concluding a short two game series. Zack Greinke had a no-decision in the game.

The Royals jumped out to a 3-0 lead over Baltimore in a big fifth inning, and the only guy who did real damage to Greinke was the O’s DH, Luke Scott. He hit a solo home run in the fifth and another one in the seventh to make it a 3-2 game. Greinke left after seven with six strikeouts.

In the bottom of the eighth, reliever Blake Scott gave up a solo home run to Corey Patterson tying the game at 3-3. The Royals had 11 hits, with 10 of the coming off O’s starter Kevin Millwood who went eight innings while striking out seven.

The Royals head to Cleveland for another two game series starting Wednesday night.
