The state’s case against Cathy Gieseker was in court again Thursday morning in Warren County.

KXEO’s Chris Newbrough reports the hearing to set a trial date for the former Martinsburg grain dealer turned into a hearing to set a date for a plea agreement between Gieseker and the state of Missouri.

Gieseker is still facing 12 state charges in a $27 million Ponzi scheme case. According to Gieseker’s attorney, a plea agreement has been reached with the state, but she would not comment on the details. The state’s attorney would not comment either.

The court date for the plea agreement is June 16th in Warrenton.  Gieseker’s attorney says the agreement has not been signed by wither side yet as they are still working out technical issues.

Gieseker will appear for the June 16th hearing via satellite from the work camp near the Lexington, KY medical hospital prison. That’s where she’s serving her 9-year federal prison sentence. She was convicted in April of bilking about 180 area farmers out of over $27 million since 2006.
