Three times in his first five starts of the season, Amercian League Cy Young Award winner Zack Greinke has left a ballgame with a lead only to have the bullpen blow it for him. Greinke finishes April with no wins as the Mariners won 3-2.

Greinke pitched seven scoreless innings while giving up just six hits, five of which were singles. He didn’t walk any hitters and left with a 2-0 lead. Then in the eighth, the Mariners batted around on relievers Josh Rupe, Robinson Tejada and Bruce Chen to score three runs. The big inning was all capped off when Chen walked in the go ahead run.

Greinke was 5-0 last April with a 0.50 ERA. His ERA this season isn’t bad either at 2.56 in his first five starts, but he has an 0-3 record. After the game manager Trey Hillman and Greinke talk about the disappointing loss.
