Albert Pujols hit his 7th home run of the season of Giants’ starter Matt Cain and the Cardinals added one more run in the fourth. That was enough for Brad Penny to pick up his third win of the season as the Cardinals won 2-0 on Sunday.

Penny pitched 7.2 innings giving up eight hits while striking out two. Jason Motte finished the 8th for a hold and Ryan Franklin pitched the 9th for his sixth save.

Colby Rasmus doubled to lead off the fourth inning and scored on two sacrfices…one from David Freese and a fly ball out from Yadier Molina. Pujols went 3 for 4 and raised his average to .301.
