Missouri State freshman left fielder Keenen Maddox hit two home runs, including a two run walkoff blast to give the Bears a 5-4 win over Missouri Wednesday evening at Hammons Field.

Maddox took a 1-2 pitch off MU closer Jeff Emens deept to left to score Tyler Paxson who led off with a single. Maddox also hit a solo shot in the fifth, which ended starter Jeff Scardino’s no-hit bid. Maddox went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

MU’s Scardino retired the first 10 Bears he faced and left with a 3-1 lead after 6.1 innings where he allowed just two hits. MSU’s Mike Kickham tied Missouri State’s season-high with 11 strikeouts while giving up six hits and three runs, one earned, over seven innings.

Aaron Senne, the Big 12’s reigning player of the week went 1 for 3 to extend his hitting streak to 17 games.
