By all accounts from what I’ve read, Texas quarterback Colt McCoy impressed Rams’ head coach Steve Spanuolo with his personal workout that lasted about an hour at the Texas practice facility. McCoy threw a variety of passes in what I would consider a more pressured packed session as opposed to when a school will host a pro-day.

This was an individual workout for the Rams. He threw passes that the Rams wanted to see. He called plays and audibles from the Rams’ playbook. It’s a little different at a pro-day, where a player will run the plays from his college playbook and has as much time as he needs to practice.

One knock on McCoy is his arm strength, but Rams GM Billy Devaney said it was good enough and he was deadly accurate. Today, the Rams head up to South Bend, IN. to watch Jimmy Clausen’s pro-day workout, but many draft experts are still saying the Rams are leaning toward selecting Sam Bradford from Oklahoma.
