The deadline to get census forms into the government was yesterday, but there’s still time to be counted.
About 55 percent of Missouri has turned in their forms so far. That’s better than the national average, but nowhere close to complete. Simmons says the Census Bureau will tally forms from now through July, which is when Census workers will start trying to count those who did not submit forms.
Federal spending for programs and the number of Congressional delegates apportioned to each state is determined by their population. The population is based on who gets counted during the census every ten years.
