Steve Sullivan scored the go ahead goal, six minutes inot the third period as the Nashville Predators beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Thursday night to move within a point of clinching a playoff berth. Meanwhile, the Blues remain six points out of the final playoff spot with five games remaining on the schedule.

The Blues jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a power play goal from Alex Steen and a goal from Andy McDonald. The Predators then broke a home scoring drought that had stretched over more than eight periods.

Dustin Boyd and Colin Wilson scored in the second period for Nashville, with their second goal coming with 3.5 seconds left in the period. Patric Hornqvist had three assists. On the last goal, Hornqvist just tried to clear the puck and Sullivan tracked it down and beat his former teammate with a wrist shot.
