The Kansas City Royals lost their scheduled game Wednesday afternoon agains the Angels falling 8-6, then in a make up game with San Francisco, lost in the night game 7-0. Brian Bannister had his first rough outing and Kyle Farnsworth received high praise from manager Trey Hillman.

Bannister gave up five runs and couldn’t get out of the fifth inning. He admits he lost a little concentration after he missed with a couple of pitches and gave up two long home runs to Torii Hunter which totaled about 850 feet in distance.

In the game against the Giants, Farnsworth, who is fighting for a spot in the rotation, gave up three runs in five innings, but had eight strikeouts and no walks. This spring, Farnsworth has learned to throw a changeup which manager Trey Hillman says could make him a very dangerous pitcher in the future whether he’s a starter or reliever.

One other side note…no surprise Alex Gordon will start the season on the DL and rehab at AAA Omaha.  Gordon has been out since March 6th with a broken thumb.
