Albert Pujols hit his second homer of the spring, coming back from missing a couple of days with a sore back and Brendan Ryan got the Cardinals on the board in the first with a solo shot as the Cardinals beat the Mets 2-1 behind a solid outing from Chris Carpenter.

Carpenter lowerd his 10.00 ERA to just above six, tossing four hitless innings and going six innings giving up just one run on two hits and two walks while striking out seven. With just one more start of the spring, this was his best performance of the Grapefruit League so far. The last time he gave up seven runs on 10 hits in four innings to the Marlins. Now, pitchers are starting to become a little more laser focused.
