The news for Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is not good. Manager Tony LaRussa said he’ll be out the rest of spring training and could even miss opening day after straining an oblique muscle yesterday. He slid into second base and then thought of scoring on a single, but pulled up at third base and immediately came out of the game.

Today, Molina was wrapped with an ice pack on his right side. His oblique was bothering him before the game, but he was playing thruogh the pain. In 12 Grapefruit League games, Molina is batting .294 (10-for-34).
