Albert Pujols underwent an MRI and got an anti-inflammatory shot on Monday after he was scratched from the Cardinals’ home game against the Red Sox. He continues to have a recurrence of tightness in his lower back. Pujols missed a week earlier in the spring with a bad back.

The MRI was done to figure how what type of shot to give Pujols and after he played in Sunday’s rain out, he expected to play today. Pujols misses more time the same day Matt Holliday returned from an injury.
