Keith Ramsey and Kim English each scored 20 points as the Missouri Tigers won their first round NCAA tournament game over Clemson 86-78 in Buffalo. The Tigers will now face West Virginia who beat Morgan State 77-50 on Sunday.

Things did not start well for Missouri. Down 17-15, Kim English picked up his second foul with 12:56 to play in the first half and went to the bench. Clemson then went on a 11-4 run to open up their biggest lead of the game at 28-19. Just as fast, Missouri came back with a 9-0 run to tie the game at 28. In that run was a three pointer by Ramsey. The Tigers survived the half heading the locker room tied at 39.

In the second half, both teams went back and forth for the first six minutes unitl the Tigers took over. With the score tied 50-50, MU got a free throw from J.T. Tiller and and three pointer from English to open up a 54-50 lead. Clemson would then go 1 for 9 and Mizzou would open up a 65-55 lead with just one three pointer and a couple of free throws. Mizzou’s biggest lead was 71-60 with 6:27 to go and Clemson would never get closer than five points the rest of the way.

Mizzou shot 53% from the floor and forced 19 turnovers while hitting 21 of 29 from the free throw line.
