The Kansas City Royals announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a 2010 Major League contract with outfielder Mitch Maier. The 27-year old Maier appeared in 127 games for the Royals last season, hitting .243 with 15 doubles, three triples, three home runs, 31 RBI and 42 runs scored. The 6-foot-2, 211-pounder also stole nine bases in 11 attempts. A Michigan native, Maier was selected by the Royals in the first round (30th overall) in 2003.
