Northwest Missouri State freshman pitcher Jenna Creger no-hit Oklahoma Panhandle State to earn her first collegiate victory Saturday at the Midwestern State Tournament. It’s the first no-hitter thrown by a Bearcat pitcher since Cola Krueger blanked Bellevue in 2006.

Northwest (2-5) scored six runs in the sixth inning and beat the Aggies 7-0. The Bearcats lost 5-4 to Western New Mexico earlier in the day and finished the tournament 2-3. Sunday’s contest with Missouri Southern was cancelled due to rain.

Creger (1-4) retired 21 of 22 hitters, had a season-best six strikeouts and saw two balls leave the infield. A one-out walk in the third inning was her lone blemish.

Hailee Hendricks and Kit Daugherty combined for eight hits, including three doubles, two RBIs and four runs scored in two games Saturday. Dacey Hassey hit a team-best .429 with a home run and four RBIs in the tournament’s five games.

Erin Leslie had eight hits, scored five runs and stole four bases during the tournament. Her 115 career runs scored ties Katy John and Kendra Smith for the second-most in program history. Lindsay Stephenson is Northwest’s all-time leading scorer with 121 runs.

Creger pitched in all but one of the five games. She allowed six earned runs in 14 and one-third innings of work and struck out 10.
