Missouri is looking for its third consecutive win against Texas for the first time since Norm Stewart was on the bench. Missouri won three straight from 1997-99, including an 80-75 win in the 1997 Big 12 Tournament, but Mizzou hasn’t won three consecutive regular season games vs. UT since the Big 12 Conference was formed.

Yesterday Mike Anderson said, “I think right now they’re (Texas)probably hitting that stride that they were hitting at the beginning of the year. They played well against Nebraska, North Carolina earlier, Michigan State. They have a lot of weapons, Avery, Pittman, James, Brown, Johnson, Balbay and you can keep going. So it’s going to be a big challenge for our basketball team. I think its one our guys look forward to, the ultimate challenge, as we get in the last 6 games of conference play. Each game gets bigger, becomes magnified, and hopefully we get the chance to defend the home court.“

The Tigers and they’re fastest 40 minutes in basketball prides itself on wearing down the opposition, but that will be a challenge since Rick Barnes has a deep bench. Missouri is #2 nationally with 34.6 points per game coming from its bench … Texas is #3 nationally in bench scoring with 32.6 points per game.
