“World Champions! There is no better feeling!” That is what former Missouri Tiger quarterback Chase Daniel tweeted after his New Orleans Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 to win the Super Bowl.

What an incredible first year in the NFL for Daniel. After joining the Redskins as a non-drafted free agent, he was waived by Washington on September 5th. Daniel was signed to the practice squad and eventually the active roster for the Saints on September 26th. Now Daniel will get a Super Bowl ring.

Daniel has some pregame pictures on his twitter account of pulling up to the stadium, plus afterwards, he was at a party with Kenny Chesney and Jimmy Buffett performing.

One more Missouri tie to the game. The Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams a former high school football coach in Missouri and quarterback at Northeast Missouri State himself, helped develop a game plan that did just enough to slow the Colts.

A quick side note, I think I heard on the broadcast, Drew Brees is now the third quarterback from Purdue with a Super Bowl ring. Bob Greise of the Dolphins and Len Dawson of the Chiefs, the two others.
