Three Chiefs, one Ram and a player who played for both teams made the NFL’s All-decade team from 2000-2009. A total of 53 players were announced on Sunday before the Pro Bowl.
Dante Hall, who played with both the Chiefs and then Rams, was picked as one of the top punt and kick returners. Although, he had most of his success with the Chiefs, he spent a good portion of his time struggling through injuries with St. Louis.
For the Rams, left tackle Orlando Pace joins Walter Jones, Jonathan Ogden and former Chief Willie Roaf. The only other Ram to make the list was wide receiver Torry Holt.
For the Chiefs, joining Hall and Roaf were offensive guard Will Shields. A leader on that Chiefs offensive line for so many years, he helped open big holes for running backs like Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson.
The other given, is tight end Tony Gonzalez. A multiple Pro Bowler who has set several records. They also included Antonio Gates on this list, and while Gates is good there is really no other tight end who comes close to Gonzalez when you consider the number of years he was at the top of his game.
