TMZ.com is reporting that a former girlfriend has accused Rams running back Steven Jackson of assaulting her when she was nine months pregnant. This is from a criminal complaint she filed with the Las Vegas Police Department back in March of 2009.

According to TMZ, Jackson took Supriya Harris to a hospital to be treated for her injuries, but asked her to lie and tell doctors she was injured when she fell in the shower.

In a statement released by the Rams this afternoon, Steve Spagnuolo said from Mobile, Alabama where he is scouting the Senior Bowl, “We are aware of the situation involving Steven Jackson. We are in the process of gathering information. We are always concerned with issues involving our players.”

Ten days after that incident, the baby boy was born.  According to the website, there was another incident where Jackson threatened Harris.

Jackson denied the allegations in a statement released by a spokesman.  “It’s disheartening that I have to address any alleged allegations 10 months later, but I have read the accusations made by Supriya Harris, and they are untrue.  The accusations are especially hurtful because those who truly know me know that those actions would be out of character for me. Miss Harris is the mother of my son, a son that I love and that I willingly support emotionally and financially. I will address this matter thoroughly through the appropriate avenues, but not through the media.”

Jackson was the leading NFC rusher this season despite the Rams finishing 1-15.
