The Missouri Tigers were back on the court Monday following their loss to Oklahoma putting in extra work on conditioning. Head coach Mike Anderson says it’s important for his team to use their time off wisely as they prepare for Nebraska on Saturday and Kansas on Monday.

Anderson talked about the Tigers working more on imposing their will on other teams and trying to dictate the tempo of the game instead of having the opposition slow the pace.

I talked with Laurence Bowers and Kim English and asked them if jumping out to a 10-0 lead may have affected how they came out attacked?   They both said perhaps that had something to do with their aggressivenss as the game wore on.  They admitted perhaps that after jumping out to a quick lead, they may have sat back a little bit.

Now Missouri prepares for Nebraska.  The Husker base the game around a strong defense and outside shooting.  They’re not very big up front.  They have a freshmen from Germany, Christian Standhardinger, but he missed the first half of the season with eligibility issues.

Nebraska is 0-3 in Big 12 play and coach Doc Sadler has said his team has lacked the mental focus to finish games off.  In their last two losses at home against Iowa State and Kansas, NU led by a point at halftime.

Mike Anderson talks about JT Tiller’s role, and preparing this weekend for Nebraska followed by KU in Lawrence on Monday.
