Texas Tech battled from being down eight late in regulation to tie the game and force overtime, but Missouri hits key free throws down the stretch to beat Texas Tech 94-89 to hand the Red Raiders their first home loss of the season. The Tigers are 14-3 and 2-0 in the Big 12.

The Tigers looked to have the game in hand, but Tech  scored 13 points in the final minute thanks to some three pointers a turnover here and there and a couple of free throws to tie the game at 79-79.

I was impressed with how Missouri showed their composure, not just in the overtime, but at the end of regulation by hitting free throws.  The Tigers went 17 of 22 from the three minute mark of regulation through overtime.

In OT, Mizzou scored on their first five possessions to go up by four 90-86, but the Red Raiders weren’t done hitting a three to get to 90-89, but Missouri made their foul shots and held off Tech.  Marcus Denmon and Kim English each scored 20 to lead the Tigers.  Mizzou on the road again on Saturday at Oklahoma.
