The Kansas City Royals signed outfielder Scott Podsednik to a one-year deal for 2010 with an option for the 2011 season.   The 33-year old Podsednik led the White Sox last season with a .304 average, hitting 25 doubles, six triples, seven home runs, 48 RBI and 75 runs scored in 132 games. He stole 30 bases, good for eighth in the league, marking his fifth season of 30 or more steals. Podsednik’s 163 hits were the most in the Majors among all players with 132 games or less.
