Quite a few stores are closed on Christmas Day but that doesn’t mean you’ll have to wait until Saturday to pick up batteries for that new toy or device you received as a gift. Most convenience stores are open.

Ron Leone, Executive Director of the Missouri Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association, says just about anything you need on Christmas morning is available at your local convenience store.

“It’s the place for staples such as fuel, milk, bread, and eggs,” said Leone in an interview with the Missourinet. “It’s the place to get batteries for gifts that you’ve given as well as gifts you’ve received.”

No doubt the staples and the batteries are important, but Leone says there is much more at the c-stores.

“It’s a great place for last minute ingredients for your favorite holiday dishes,” said Leone. “Finally, it’s even a fantastic place for Christmas gifts such as dolls and other collectibles.”

Looking for booze? No problem.

“At gas stations and convenience stores in Missouri we sell alcohol, as well,” said Leone. “Sometimes you run out of alcohol for your parties and you have more guests than you anticipated.”

Leone takes advantage of the opportunity, at Christmas, to stress the importance of convenience at convenience stores – pointing out most stores are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
