Nothing new…Rams beat again

December 20, 2009 By Bill Pollock

Matt Schaub had his eighth 300-yard passing game, and Andre Johnson had a season best 196 yards receiving, and found a way to hold off the 16-13, dropping the Rams to 1-13.

I was surprised the Rams were in this game. There were a few cases of Swine Flu, they are battered on the offensive line and Keith Null, a rookie was starting at quarterback.

Johnson had receptions of 30 and 44 yards on consecutive plays to put the Texans at the St. Louis 12 on the go-ahead drive. Houston settled for a 28-yard field goal by Kris Brown, his third of the game, with 4:36 to go.

Steven Jackson had 82 yards on 20 carries, becoming the Rams’ career leader in rushing attempts, despite playing a fourth game with a lower back injury, something that has plagued him the last few weeks.   He missed a few plays getting into it with Bernard Pollard(the former Chief who knocked Tom Brady out for the season last year) left him with a bloody lip in the fourth quarter.

The Rams led at halftime for only the fourth time all season on Keith Null’s 2-yard touchdown pass to Danny Amendola that made it 10-6, and the teams were tied at 13 after three quarters after Josh Brown’s 52-yard field goal.
