The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame plans to honor 15 individuals with their 2010 class. Headlining the list of inductees: Former Kansas City Chiefs coach Marty Schottenheimer, former Missouri Tigers and San Diego Chargers tight end Kellen Winslow, Sr., former Kansas City Royals pitcher Mark Gubicza, and former St. Louis Cardinals catcher Tom Pagnozzi.

Also joining the newest group of Hall of Famers is longtime SBU tennis coach John Bryant who is in his 44th year at SBU; current Northwest Missouri State football head coach Mel Tjeerdsma; former Kickapoo High School boys basketball coach Roy Green; former Joplin Parkwood High School football coach Dewey Combs; the late Father Martin Hagan, who coached rifle at Saint Louis University; cyclist and fundraiser Peter Herschend; Leo Harrison III, Missouri premier trap shooter from New London; Mark Musso, a sports executive and president and CEO of Special Olympics Missouri; Ellen Gale Hopkins Green, a former swimming star in Springfield in the 1930s and 40s; and Irl Robinson, a golf club maker from Clinton.

Two teams will also be inducted including Mid State Oil softball teams from the late 70s in Jefferson City and the 1979 Southwest Missouri State women’s field hockey team.

The evening reception on Sunday, January 31, 2010, will get underway at 5:00 p.m. at the University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield, followed by the banquet at 6:00 p.m. A limited number of tickets for the 2010 Enshrinement Ceremonies are available by calling 417-889-3100.
