Iowa State says it’s already sold nearly 2,000 tickets to the Insight Bowl. The 6-6 Cyclones were chosen over the 8-4 Tigers to face Minnesota in the Dec. 31 bowl game in Tempe, Ariz. Missouri is heading to the Texas Bowl, but at least fans not going to the game will be able to watch it on TV.

The Insight Bowl will air on NFL Network (does anyone get that)? I know some Cyclone fans who are upset they won’t be able to see the game because their local cable provider doesn’t offer the NFL Network. The Tigers’ Texas Bowl will air on the 31st on ESPN. I’ve got this idea of rounding up the five ISU fans in the state and inviting them to my house to watch the NFL Network off my dish. I could charge them $20 apiece, throw some snacks and drinks there way and turn a profit on this game? Hmmm?

In other Mizzou football news, Linebacker Rolando McClain of Alabama beat out Mizzou’s Sean Weatherspoon for the Butkus award which is given to the top linebacker in college football. The ESPN College Football Awards will air tonight at 6pm.

The Tigers will hold their first practice on Thursday in Columbia. The first of eight that will take place in Missouri before they head down to Houston. Here are their practice dates.
