A trip to the NAIA national championship game will be on the line this afternoon as the number three Lindenwood Lions take on the number two Carroll College Fighting Saints.  The Lions are a long way from St. Charles as this game is being played at Carroll College in Helena, Montana. These two teams know each other very well, as this will be a rematch of last year’s semifinal game.  That game was won by the Saints 38-37 as they stopped a two point conversion attempt by the Lions in the last minute of the game.

This will be a matchup of a very powerful offense and a very tough defense.  The Lions offense is averaging nearly 58 points per game, while the Saints defense has held opponents to just over 14 points per game.

Lindenwood comes into this game with a record of 12-0 this season.  The Lions have already set school records for most wins in a season and consecutive wins in a season.

The Fighting Saints will be looking to advance to their seventh trip to the NAIA Championship game in the last eight years.  During this time, Carroll has won five national titles.

Both of these two schools did play the same team once this season. Lindenwood beat Mid America Nazerene in September, while Carroll beat them last week in their NAIA quartefinal game.

This afternoon’s game will kick off just after 1:00.
