Jennies VB moves on, Truman State’s season ends

November 20, 2009 By Bill Pollock

The 4th and top-seeded Central Missouri Jennies, who are hosting the NCAA South Central Regional, improved their home winning streak to 12 while advancing to the semifinal with a win over No. 8 seed Dallas Baptist, 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-14) on Thursday.

UCM’s Paula Harris led all players with 13 kills in the match. Senior setter Caitlin Pankratz reached 40 or more assists for the third time in the last four matches with 42.  The Jennies will play the No. 5 seed, Pittsburg State, who upset No. 4 Emporia State earlier in the day. The semifinal matches will begin at 6 p.m. with No. 3 West Texas (who swept the Truman State Bulldogs) against No. 2 Washburn, followed by the Jennies at 8:30 p.m.
