MSU Loses In Conference Semifinals

November 14, 2009 By Missourinet Contributor

The 19th ranked Missouri State men’s soccer team loses its semifinal Missouri Valley Conference game in overtime to Evansville, 2-1.  The first half would be scoreless between the two teams, but the Purple Aces would score first. The Bears would respond five minutes later when Heath Melugin would score on a corner kick from Edin Sabic.

In the extra time, Evansville would score the eventual game winning goal in the 100th minute.

The Bears were outshot in regulation by the Purple Aces, 18-13.

Missouri State will now have to wait until Monday afternoon at 3:30 to see whether or not they will make the field for the NCAA Tournament.
