The Kansas City Chiefs are on the road this weekend in Florida for a game Sunday afternoon against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This will be a battle of two teams that have struggled this season in the NFL, as the Chiefs are 1-6 and the Jaguars 3-4.
This will be an interesting game to watch, as the Chiefs have one of the worst offenses in the league, while the Jaguars have one of the worst defenses. Kansas City has not played in Jacksonville since 2004 and this will be the first game against the Jaguars since 2007.
Kansas City is coming off their bye week. The last game they played was not pretty as they were beaten badly by the San Diego Charges, 37-7. That is the game that prompted the off field actions of suspended running back Larry Johnson.
Chiefs running back Larry Johnson remains suspended for his comments about head coach Todd Haley and for twice using a gay slur after the Chiefs lost to San Diego. Johnson will be able to rejoin the team on Monday.
With the suspension of Johnson, the team will turn to Jamaal Charles and to Dantrell Savage to handle the running back duties.
The off week was also full of other roster news. The Chiefs announced on Tuesday, that their starting free safety, Jarrad Page, was done for the season due to a season ending injury. Also this week, Kansas City was awarded wide receiver Chris Chambers, after he was released by San Diego.
Jacksonville is coming of a loss last weekend in Tennessee against the Titans. In that game, the Jaguars gave up over 300 yards on the ground. But, Jacksonville did stay in the game thanks to the play of their talented running back Maurice Jones-Drew. He carried the ball for just eight times for 177 yards and two touchdowns.
The Chiefs and Jaguars will kick off just after noon on Sunday.
