Cameron, Missouri native and junior kicker Brad Beckwith of the Missouri Western Griffons was named MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week.  Beckwith had the best day of his career. Beckwith hit a career-high three field goals in a game as he hit from 35, 41 and 18 yards. Beckwith kicked off six times for 393 yards, an average of 65.5 yards per kickoff, with one touchback.

He also averaged 46.3 yards per punt with a long of 59 with two of his three punts landing inside the twenty-yard line. Beckwith also had one assisted tackle in the contest. He had 11 of the Griffons¹ 29 points in the victory.

The Griffons are ranked 21st in the country and will take on the Mavericks of Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday, November 7 at 1:30 pm from Spratt Stadium on Senior Day. The Griffons are currently 8-2 overall and 6-2 in MIAA play. Western is ranked 5th in the latest Super Region Four Poll and remain in the top 25 for the seventh week in a row. If the Griffons defeat the Mavericks on Saturday Western will be in the playoffs for just the second time in its 40 year history (last in 2006).
