Johnson ordered to stay away from Chiefs practices

October 28, 2009 By Bill Pollock

According to a story on NFL.com, Kansas City Chiefs running back has been asked by the team to stay away from practices while they and league officials continue their investigation into the use of a gay slur.

Could this ultimately end up being the end of the road for Johnson with the Chiefs. He signed a five year extension back in 2007 with $19 million guaranteed. He has the potential to make up to $45 million. How much would the Chiefs be on the hook for if they release Johnson could be the next question for the Chiefs’ front office.

Last year, after two separate night club incidents, an arbitrator ruled the Chiefs could cut Johnson without paying him guaranteed money, but the team obviously kept him on the team.
