Missouri Basketball coach Mike Anderson hosted Missouri Governor Jay Nixon and University of Missouri System President Gary Forsee last night at Mizzou Arena for the Black & Gold Game Draft. Forsee and Nixon are honorary coaches for their selected squads.

Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, J.T. Tiller, was the first overall selection to President Forsee, who won the pre-draft coin flip. The draft was organized to create balance between the two clubs and Governor Nixon received Zaire Taylor with the #2 overall pick.

“I always knew I liked President Forsee,” Tiller said with a laugh after seeing his selection in the Mizzou Arena Media Room. “I guess I had better make him look good after picking me #1.”

In addition to Taylor, Nixon received the #3 pick as well and nabbed sophomore shooting guard Kim English.

The Black & Gold Game will be held Friday (Oct. 23) at 8 p.m. inside Mizzou Arena. Doors to the event will open at 7 p.m. and the Tigers will be on the north concourse of Mizzou Arena signing autographs until 7:30 p.m. Parking is free, however vehicles will need to be moved after the conclusion of the game as crews begin preparations for Saturday night’s Homecoming game against Texas.
