Another draft pick from the Herm Edwards’ era in Kansas City is gone. Late Monday, the Chiefs traded three year veteran nose tackle Tank Tyler to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for Carolina’s fifth round pick in next year’s draft.  Tyler started the first two games of the year, but since then has backed up Ron Edwards who has moved into the starting role and has played better and better each week.

The Rams got good news on Monday when X-rays and MRI’s were negative on Rams’ wide receiver Donnie Avery’s hip.  Head coach Steve Spagnuolo said “I’m sure he’s sore, but he was already talking about getting out yesterday in the locker room. He was talking about ‘I’ll be out there practicing coach, I’ll be out there practicing’.  That’s him.  I remember when I first got here and we were in the OTA’s and he had the legitimate injury.  I look over there and he’s trying to do sprints on his own. He wants to come back. That’s a good problem to have.”
