With six races left in the Nationwide season, Carl Edwards will try and make up some ground on Kyle Busch in this afternoon’s race in California. He comes into the race in second place, trailing Busch by 245 points.
On Friday, Edwards learned he is going to have some new sponsors for his run next season in the Nationwide series. Auto auction and salvage company Copart will be the primary sponsor for Edwards number 60 car for 16 races. Fastenal will also be the primary sponsor for 15 races.
The green flag drops on the Copart 300 at 3:00 this afternoon. Edwards will also race in the Sprint Cup race at California on Sunday. This will be the third race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship. He is in 11th place in the standings. The Pepsi 500 will start at 1:30 Sunday afternoon.
