Missouri State will hold off on installing lights

October 8, 2009 By Bill Pollock

Missouri State University will hold off on installing and replacing the lights at the Plaster Sports Complex in Springfield after bid came in at a cost of $492,000. Missouri State University President Michael T. Nietzel, said, “Given the budget circumstances, all of us believe this is the prudent action for us to take. The temporary lights are sufficient for the Ozarko Band Festival (October 17), for night practices, for intramurals, and for security lighting when it’s dark. We will make do with the temporary lights for now.”

Nietzel said the delay would give the University more time for planning. And, it will give the University a chance to explore funding options. The Plaster Sports Complex serves as the home for Missouri State’s football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, field hockey, and track and field teams.
