The 9th ranked Central Missouri Jennies defeated 3rd ranked Emporia State, 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-23) in a matchup of AVCA Top-25 teams at the UCM Multipurpose Building Wednesday evening.

The first set saw the Jennies jump out to a 7-2 lead, followed by an Emporia timeout. Then the Jens went on another 7-2 run to make the score 19-7 on a Paula Harris kill. They coasted to a 25-11 set win and forced 12 ESU attack errors. UCM hit .440 while the Lady Hornets hit -.121.

UCM led in throughout the second set as well. As a team the Jennies hit .400 in the set. Jennifer Williams added a game high four kills, hitting .500. A late four point run was halted by a Bradye Peniston from Caitlin Pankratz, the Jens ended the set on the ensuing serve to win 25-18.

There were three ties and three lead changes in the third set. With the score 22-17 ESU made a six point run to take the lead 23-22. Abby Gruenbacher, who had four blocks on the night (2 solo, 2 assist), had her biggest at the most crucial point in the match along with Peniston, to give the Jennies the lead 24-23. The Jennies took the match on the next point.

Harris and Huffman led the team in kills with 10 apiece. Rachel Fister and Kelsey Ortwerth logged team-high double-digit digs with 19 and 14 respectively. Pankratz had 30 assists.
